4/14/2022

We with Think We, not Me Community Food Growing Program have continued strategizing and planning for 2022 since our Update last November.

We’ve already begun with Orchard pruning  and spraying to maximize our fresh fruit yield (look for volunteer opportunities, soon)

Having donated 33,000 lbs of fresh produce in 2021, with you’re help, we’re positioning to stretch our donation goal to 60,000 lbs for 2022!

Exciting news:

We incorporated early this year and are soon to receive our IRS determination as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  By incorporating as a non-profit, we can now apply for grants and those who donate to us can receive tax benefits…

We have been blessed by more Growers volunteering the use of their fields and orchards for this year.  In turn, you, our volunteers will see greater diversity in working with us to prep our properties, plant our produce, and harvest both new vegetables and new fruit types (including blueberries, peaches, plums, pears, and apples)

As always, we depend on you, our volunteers, to enable our success in providing free produce for our food insecure neighbors in Centre County.

This year, we’d like to offer more Group Opportunities (increasing team bonding, earning service credit hours, etc)….if you are involved in a group or know of a group seeking satisfying, fresh outdoor activity, please go to our updated website, http://thinkwenotme.org to learn more about us, to Register with us, and to Volunteer as we post our Opportunities.

It’s going to be a BANNER year for providing fresh produce for the food insecure of Centre County, PA,

ALL WITH YOUR HELP, Thank you in advance!
